But what if you don’t have such program installed on your computer? One good solution to this is to use your browser to login to your ftp account.

On my case, I used Internet Explorer to upload files to my PowWeb account. On my IE’s address bar, I entered the following code format: ftp://ftpaccount:password@ftp.powweb.com and presto! I was able to drag and drop my files from my computer to PowWeb server.

However, there are some disadvantages in using this method. Accessing your ftp account on this manner means that you are going to send your FTP username and password in an unsecured way.

Another way is to use a third party website to access your ftp account. Most popular sites are Net2FTP and Web2FTP. Just like the first method, uploading your files thru this third party website means that you will be giving your FTP login to them. Be sure you read their “Disclaimer” or “Terms of Service” before you use their web-based service.
