Customer Wishlist at PowWeb?

Published by bigBert on Tagged PowWeb Hosting, PowWeb Support, Web Hosting Blog

I just came across PowWeb Forum’s announcements thread and I discovered that they have what they call “customer wish list” where users can suggest or ‘wish’ for any feature that they want to be added to the server. Lots of users have already added their requests, some of them already granted and some might still being weighed upon by the PowWeb management. Some of the wishes include multi-domain name logging, changes with FileManager and OPS navigation, installation of Perl modules, implementation on a browser-based FTP access, and more.

The wishlist is accessible to customers and non customers, but voting is limited to its members, meaning they first need to login to the OPS before they can vote for an item on the wishlist. Other rules that Joshua, one of PowWeb’s administrators, included on his post on the forum are:

* Anyone can submit a suggestion and see the number of votes (including non-customers)!
* Only members can vote.
* Members can vote on as many suggestions they want only one time.
* You cannot currently remove your vote on a suggestion.
* We determine which suggestions get on the ballot, but as you can see, we're not holding back too much.
* The listed is sorted by highest votes first, but you can sort by "Date Added" once the page is loaded.

For me this is one of the best things with PowWeb, aside from their community where you can ask for almost anything, you also have the chance to suggest and vote for any upgrades and changes that would make the customer and the management happy. Although I admit that there are some issues that are still unresolved such as the on going MYSQL issues, I can say that this is one good step in reaching out to customers, whether you are a beginner or a pro in web hosting. Good job PowWeb!
